Has someone ever asked you, "Have you ever had a reading?" But you didn't know what a reading was? Sounds weird, eh? Maybe you though they are reading poetry out loud. But in this case, I'm talking about a Tarot card reading, angel reading, or psychic reading. These types of readings are designed to help you get more information about a particular situation or troubling question you may have in your life. Alternatively they can be used to get information about where you ought to be focusing your priorities right now.

In our western culture, we're taught not to focus too much about what's going on under the covers in our lives and instead take a mode of pushing through life, making something happen, and even struggling. For some that don't have that energy to struggle or force themselves through a situation, they may instead feel defeated, give up, or get depressed. But what if, instead, you got insights into what energies were motivating what was going on? That information could help you move through that difficult time with ease and grace and understanding. That may seem like a tall order for a reading, but it really works.

How a reading works

In a reading, you, the client, transmit your question to the person who will provide the psychic insights. With Tarot cards, you might shuffle the cards or cut the deck for the reader. In stone readings, I would have you select a set of small objects/stones and, while holding them, blow into them your question. However it's done, the idea is to transmit the energy of the question so the reader can translate it for you. Then their job is to read that energy to give you the information you need to help you.

For a stone reading, I throw the stones on a cloth with other large stones anchoring each of the four directions. Information is obtained from various sources: stones can land in certain territories on the map, stones can make patterns, and stones literally “speak” to me when I touch them. 

During a stone reading, it's possible to do more than just read the energies. Because the stones are a metaphor of your energy body in the sacred space of the shamanic divination reading, it is possible to both read energies and clear unwanted energies that are uncovered. In which way, you can begin to attract or create a future more in alignment with your soul’s desires. That's why a stone reading can help you in so many ways in your life.
