About Environmental Harmony
Laurie Anderson, founder of Environmental Harmony, completed her Ph.D. in Cultural Ecology with
a specialization in Spiritual Ecology (2004, Union
Institute & University, see Academic
Writing). My focus was on the dynamic
relationship between people and the cultural and environmental systems
in which they live. I bring my education and this focus, combined
with my understanding as a shaman trained in the Peruvian tradition, to
my practice of Environmental Harmony. (Read my
healing story.) Environmental
Harmony was founded to help others bring balance and harmony to their personal life
which in turn reflects on the world.
Since
1999, I have trained extensively with shamans trained by
the Q'ero of the high Andes of Peru and also in Peru. The Q’ero are
a Peruvian Indian indigenous people who live in the Andes, northeast
of Cuzco, specifically in and around the holy mountain of Ausungate
(see photo upper left), and have been known for maintaining their old
ways thus differentiating them from other Andean indigenous tribes
today that drifted away from their ancient teachings after the
European conquest.
My
extensive first career in computer software/hardware manufacturing
encompassed all aspects of the product development and business life
cycles. My varied experience brings a practical, real-world view of
computer technology and business communications that I apply to my writing and teaching.
